In 1994 the school was established as Coast Health Educational Center Inc., and granted institutional approval from the Bureau for Private Postsecondary and Vocational Education and The Department of Health Services in 1995 pursuant to California Educational Code .The Bureaus approval means that the institution and its operation comply with the minimum standards established under the law for occupational instructions. The school was given accredetation by The Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric  Technician in 2005. In 2008 the name was change to Coast Health Career College.

Purpose
The purpose of the program is to prepare graduate vocational nurses as beginning practitioners who are competent and self-directed to function under the supervision of a registered nurse, licensed physician. These graduates will be able to assume the role of a licensed vocational nurse, after taking and passing the National Council for Licensed Practical Nurse for the State of California (NCLEX - PN). In doing so, vocational nurses will be prepared to better serve themselves, the community, and society as a whole.

Certified Nursing Assistant

Training for a CNA position will teach you the essential duties of a certified nursing assistant that will also show you how to interact with the patient, access patient needs, and how to monitor and observe the patient's state of mind and overall condition. You will receive background to assist in diagnosing and treating injuries and human diseases. You also learn about preventative health care measures and about drug interactions.

Certified Nursing Assistants work under the supervision of nurses, providing basic patient care. Care includes helping move patients, grooming, feeding, bathing, and changing linens. CNA's play a crucial role in the day to day basic care of patients at clinics, nursing homes, long term care facilities and hospitals.
